Where We Began

Fencing Essentials is a division of award-winning Bawden Contracting Services Limited, founded by Richard Bawden in the late seventies. At its core, BCS is a tight-knit, family-run business located in the heart of Wiltshire, with a reputation for service excellence spanning 30 years.    

We began our story as a grounds maintenance and landscape gardening business, which still exists today in the form of Bawden Managed Landscapes. 

BCS introduced Fencing Essentials to the company around 2012 when the online store was first launched. The business has bobbed along for a few years up until 2020 when it was decided that it was time to get serious and invest in a brand-new website, review our product offering and really focus on growing the store.
